Jesus

(Contains religion, if you don’t believe or care don’t bother starting a debate)

Anyone that really knows me, knows that I come up with the most abstract senseless ideas but amuse yourself, what if this were actually true? Here’s a recent one.

Jesus. Without getting too religious, have you ever thought who he is? Where he is? What he’s doing? Well he said he’s coming back, said he’d be here. Well what if he is?

Ever walked past a bum and not even looked at his face? Ever sat really far from the odd looking stranger on the bus or the train? Ever hurt someone in your life? What if that was Jesus? Would that have changed anything?

I personally think it’s mind blowing to think that he could be anyone and anything. Makes me think about the people we take for granted, the things in life we should be grateful for. At least for me, when I think these things are Jesus, I feel compelled to act with more compassion.

But why should that be? Aren’t we all Jesus? A part of him is us and a part of us is him. We all deserve compassion, forgiveness, love, happiness. It’s too short of a life to spend it bitter or irreconciled. So here’s to a crazy idea, maybe take a second look at who you pass up and what you decide to ignore.
He’s everyone and anything.

spiritualinspiration:

“This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24, NIV)

Many people are waiting for their circumstances to change in order to be happy and enjoy their lives. All the time I hear things like, “As soon as I get out of this problem, I’ll be happy.” “As soon as I lose ten pounds…as soon as my business grows…as soon as my child straightens up…” No, if you don’t put your foot down and decide to be happy right now, there will always be something to keep you from being happy.

God never intended for us to put off our happiness. We have a choice to make each and every day. We have to set our minds in the right direction. That’s why David said, “This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it.” He was saying, “This is the day to be happy; not tomorrow, not when the weather clears up. Not next week, when I don’t have to work so hard. Not next month, when I make it through this difficult time.” No, choose to honor the Lord right now by choosing to enjoy your life. Get rid of the excuses and rejoice because this is the day that the Lord has made!

A Prayer for Today

Father God, thank You for this day. Thank You for another opportunity to sing Your praise. I choose to set my mind and heart on You. I choose to rejoice and be glad so that everything I do brings honor to You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
